APPROACH

Ask before building
Answer through the build

Grounded Technology means technology grounded in real purposes and conditions. These five questions guide our judgment.

01

POINT OF VIEW

What needs to change

What should be different when the project is complete?

Use goals and constraints to define priorities, inclusions and exclusions. For exploratory work, define what must be learned to make the next decision.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE

If dashboard data is stale, investigate integration and updates before adding charts.

02

POINT OF VIEW

The work behind the screen

Who does what after this screen?

Distinguish reading information from changing business state. Actions bring roles, input validation, feedback and handoffs into scope.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE

Multiple readers do not automatically need an approval workflow. Identify the actual actions and responsibilities.

03

POINT OF VIEW

Connections and boundaries

What is shared, and what must change independently?

Define who confirms shared records and owns interfaces and changes. More connections do not require merging every responsibility.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE

Preparation may continue while awaiting confirmation, but its result stays pending until accepted.

04

POINT OF VIEW

The scope of AI delegation

Which of the things AI can do should it be allowed to act on?

Consider allowed actions, sufficient information and consequences in that order. Human approval cannot replace missing information or execution checks.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE

Drafting and changing business records are different delegations. Hold execution when information is missing, even if writing is allowed.

05

POINT OF VIEW

Demonstration and actual use

Under what usage and exception conditions can we accept the result?

Agree normal use, exceptions, failures, corrections and handover. Match verification depth to the purpose instead of applying the same burden everywhere.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE

Define realistic questions and information conditions, then connect evaluation to acceptance.

These are judgment principles applied to project conditions. They are not a mandatory sequence or a claim about every historical engagement.
